What is Alternative Accreditation?
Alternative Accreditation is about meeting the needs of students across a vast spectrum of abilities. We offer ASDAN and GCSE courses for students from Year 8 through to Year 13; whose abilities range from Special Educational Needs to Gifted and Talented. We offer inclusion classes to ensure that everyone is supported in and recognised for achieving their potential.
Why do we do it?Here at Thomas Tallis we like to keep students engaged and motivated within lessons so that they fulfil their potential. Through our courses we teach them a little about the life skills they will need and we engage in a subtle mentoring process along the way; this is possible due to the small group nature of our classes, meaning each student gets a little bit more attention and support. We also try to build student's personal interests into the courses where we can to give them an individual learning experience.

"We believe that developing a clear and coherent framework for alternative accreditation is important for learners of all abilities, and is a central pillar of raising attainment and standards across the school"
