The Short Courses Awards offer:

Sports and Fitness AwardThis course is aimed at young people of all abilities who like to get involved in various sporting activities.
The course consists of 4 modules: Skills and Participation, Coaching and Officiating, Fitness and Sports Study. The Sports and Fitness Short Course accredits up to 60 hours of involvement in various sporting activities, within the following areas: Skills and participation, Coaching and officiating, Fitness and Sports study. As a flexible, multi-level award, it provides a stand-alone certificate in sports skills, as well as the opportunity for progression to qualifications such as CoPE or Wider Key Skills. |
Activities with Peer Tutoring AwardThis course is particularly suitable for students who take a positive role in supported learning of their fellow peers.
The ASDAN Peer Mentoring Short Course accredits up to 60 hours of peer mentoring activity, providing recognition for those who are learning, developing, practising and passing on their skills for mentoring and 'buddying' younger ones. It provides a stand-alone certificate for students, as well as the opportunity to progress onto further qualifications such as CoPE or Wider Key Skills. |
Expressive Arts AwardThis course can be used to accredit students with up to 60 hours of expressive and creative arts activities.
These activities can include: Music, Theatre, Circus Skills, Writing, Dance, Art and Photography. The Expressive Arts Short Course comprises five modules: Explore. Create, perform, present. Arts in Action. Working in the Arts. Appreciate, appluad, review. It provides a stand-alone certificate for students, as well as the opportunity to progress onto further qualifications such as CoPE or Wider Key Skills. |
Volunteering AwardThis course is suitable for volunteers of all ages in any setting. It would be great for students who activly give their time to other students and projects inside or outside of school.
This short course recognises and rewards students volunteer work. It contains a log for students to record their participation and challenges to help them plan and review their volunteering. The Volunteering Short Course accredits up to 60 hours of activity. It provides a stand-alone certificate in volunteering, as well as the opportunity to progress onto further qualifications such as CoPE or Wider Key Skills. |
Experience of Work AwardThe Experience of Work Award programme accredits and gives a specific focus to work experience and placements, and helps to develop the foundation skills of work-related learning.
Candidates will be able to accredit their work-related learning and experience with a programme covering up to 60 hours. There are four modules: Eploring Choice, Preparing for the Workplace, Being at Work and Work International. It provides a stand-alone certificate of achievement, as well as the opportunity to progress onto further qualifications such as CoPE or Wider Key Skills. |
Aimhigher AwardThe ASDAN Aimhigher Short Course is designed to increase student awareness of Higher Education. It helps students to gain an insight and understand how Higher Education works.It will also help them to decide if it is right for them and give them an opportunity to consider different pathways into Higher Education Establishments.
It accredits up to 60 hours of Aimhigher activity. It provides a stand-alone certificate of achievement, as well as the opportunity to progress onto further qualifications such as CoPE or Wider Key Skills. |
